It was just announced that there will be new achievements for the new map pack to Treyarch’s sorry-excuse-for-a-game Call of Duty: World at War. It realy saddens me that there will be thousands upon thousands of people paying money for this crappy expansion to an even crappier game. The new achievements are listed below.
• 40 Knives!:
Kill 40 zombies with the bowie knife.
• Acquire Waffle Weapons!:
Obtain the Ray Gun, DG-2, and the Monkey Bomb at the same time in a game.
• Der electrican!:
Link all teleport pads before round 7.
• Frequent Flyer!:
Use the teleporter 8 times.
• Locksmith!:
Open all doors in the map.
• The Might of the Monkey!:
Use the Monkey Bomb.
• Perkaholics Anonymous!:
Survive untill round 20 without buying a single perk.
• Pack Addict!:
Upgrade 5 weapons at the Pack A Punch Machine.
• Wacker Packer!:
Upgrade any weapon in Pack A Punch.
• Elevate Your Senses!:
???

Rock Band drummer Mrallen95 just got the first ever optimal FC (full combo) of Visions by Abnormality on expert drums. For those of you that don’t know much about Rock Band drumming, this is a feat that was considered to be impossible for a really long time. Just a couple of days ago another drummer, I Jeff I, got the first bootleg FC (don’t activate overdrive to cover up notes) of the song.

Below is the official movie poster for the upcoming movie Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. If it wasn’t already blatantly obvious it will be a movie based on the Prince of Persia games. There really isn’t much to say about this, so lazy post is lazy

The above video is a trailer for the fan made Star Fox sequel Shadows of Lylat. This game will be released for PC, Mac, and Linux (no release date or price has been set). However, because this is fan made and without permission, Nintendo could be total douchebags and shut this whole thing down. Hopefully that won’t happen and this thing will release soon.

This is the new drumset for Guitar Hero 5. It looks like it has a new foot pedal, and the pads look like the may rebound a little better (just a guess, I don’t know if this is true). Well, there really isn’t anything else to say about it than just look at the picture. I’m not going to be picking these drums up because I already have GoodWoodMods on my World Tour set

In attempting to combine a game similar to the Sims involving Darwin’s theory of evolution, Spore initially allowed users to create a creature out of cells and simply allow it to evolve throughout the course of the game. However, the newest addition to the game, Spore Galactic Adventures, allows users to now create their own environments and manipulate their characters better than ever before. Highly anticipated by gamers and scientists alike, the original Spore game allowed users to fully appreciate the theory of evolution, although it fell short on delivering any sort of content like the Sims did. Not including any type of further adventure for its users, the game was forced to come up with its newest edition in order to allow users to participate in more activities.
Allowing gamers to express their own creativity is the best part of many games similar to Spore, which is why it needed this sequel of sorts to boost its ratings. Many users already develop their own creatures and buildings in the original Spore which set the town for the adventure creation capabilities which Spore Galactic Adventures offers to them. These new adventures allow the charms of the evolving-creature stage to be let into the space stage in another welcome sense of progression. The adventure creator is much more difficult than the creature creator, although after experimenting with it for a while, you will truly get a handle on it. The ability to customize your own planet as well as molding the environments within it is a must need for this type of video game. As many reviews have stated: “before, you got to play as God and architect; now, you get to play as game designer too.”
In this video game era that features games like Call of Duty and Resident Evil, another game that allows you to create an atmosphere and character is a welcome addition to the many violent games that have overtaken our consoles. Appealing to its own audience, Spore may not be for everyone, but can serve as a welcome break from a simple killing game, and allow you to actually take the time to think about what you want to create. So often now, games are created that serve no purpose other than to appeal to the masses of older gamers who simply want to shoot, kill, and destruct; creating a game that allows you to manipulate your surroundings and determine your outcome is one that should be applicable for users of all ages.

There were a lot of people looking forward to playing BioShock 2 when it releases on October 30th. However, those people are going to be dissapointed. Today it was announced that the game would be delayed until fiscal year 2010. Take-Two’s CEO released this statement about the delay,
“The decision to shift a release date is never an easy one, especially with a product as highly anticipated as BioShock 2. We felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve.”
