Fan-Made Star Fox Game

Posted by austinreynolds on July 19, 2009

The above video is a trailer for the fan made Star Fox sequel Shadows of Lylat.  This game will be released for PC, Mac, and Linux (no release date or price has been set).  However, because this is fan made and without permission, Nintendo could be total douchebags and shut this whole thing down.  Hopefully that won’t happen and this thing will release soon.

Nintendo takes out the Challenge

Posted by sid982 on June 14, 2009

During an interview with USA Today Miyamoto confirmed the existence of “demo play” for their future four player Mario game and also for other future Nintendo games. “Demo play” is an option in case the game gets too hard where you watch as the game plays itself. Miyamoto explains That the reason behind this is to lower the barrier for younger kids to get into games and make games more casual. I don’t know about you but I thought the challenge in games made them fun and I for one am tired of seeing more and more casual games released by Nintendo.

New Zelda game for the Wii requiring Motionplus?

Posted by sid982 on June 12, 2009

While speaking with Wired Miyamoto said ” The goal at this point is that we would make Wii Motionplus required to play Zelda”. “The bigger hurdle for us is not really whether people have a Wii Motionplus or don’t have it, it’s whether or not the experience is one where people will think they want to have a Wii Motionplus in order to experience it.” Which makes me ask the question if and how many games coming out for the Wii will require the Motionplus? I feel about this how I believe others also will which is I believe that Nintendo should make the Motionplus optional but not required to play new games.

Cop: The Recruit At E3

Posted by austinreynolds on June 2, 2009

This game actually looks really good.  It looks like an open world action/adventure game for the DS.  It is about someone that was arrested and he could either have life in prison or be an undercover cop.  Naturally, he choosses the undercover cop, and the trailer looks like it will feature lots gunplay and high speed chases.  We don’t know when it will release, but I think I might get it.

Mario & Luigi Bowser’s Inside Story

Posted by austinreynolds on June 2, 2009

This is a new Mario game for the DS.  From the looks of the trailer, this looks like it might be turn based, but I’m not sure.  The graphics look more cartoonish style, kind of like Paper Mario.  Overall, it looks like it might be pretty good.  The game will release in Europe and North America in Fall.

Wii Motion Plus At E3

Posted by austinreynolds on June 2, 2009

Wii Motion Plus is just a small extender that goes onto the bottom of your Wiimote.  Wii Motion Plus can detect where you are holding the Wiimote and at what angle.  In the skydiving activity in Wii Sports Resort, you use it to dive down and grab other skydivers.  The archery activity showed that playing with Wii Motion Plus is somewhat like a realy bow (Only a lot easier).  Last, they showed a basketball 3 point shot activity.  It looked like it would actually be a lot of fun; and being a basketball player myself, it looked a lot like how you would shoot a real basketball.  Wii Motion Plus will release in July.
