As most of you have probably noticed, I barely update this blog anymore.  The main reason for this is that I have been focusing more and more on my writing at Hooked Gamers.  This might be my last post here, so if you would like to keep up with my work then head over to Hooked Gamers and check me out there.

In Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, if you happen to kill 25 enemies in a row without dying then you will be given the nuke. When activated, a nuclear bomb drops and kills everything. It takes out the other team, you, and your team. Just in case you haven’t figured it out by now; yes, that means you win.

Infinity Ward might have just made the biggest mistake in PC gaming ever. They announced that Modern Warfare 2 on the PC would use a matchmaking service called IWNet and players will not be able to host their own dedicated servers. If this happens, then that eliminates custom created maps from multiplayer. Custom maps have long been a staple of PC gaming, and as you can imagine, players are pissed about this. There is currently a petition that is asking Infinity Ward to get rid of this matchmaking service and reinstate dedicated servers. That petition has nearly 28,000 signatures (including myself) and is growing by the second. If you are against this, then I strongly recommend that you go sign that petition. Infinity Ward can’t just ignore 28,000 signatures (remember, it worked with the Left 4 Dead petition).

LEGO Rock Band will support DLC, but with a catch. In LEGO Rock Band, you will only be able to purchase “family friendly” songs from the music store. Unfortunately, that means that you will not be able to listen to your 5 year old child growling along to The Black Dahlia Murder’s “What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse” or Cannibal Copse’s “Hammer Smashed Face”. However, some good news about DLC is that every single one of the songs is exportable to Rock Band 2 and Rock Band for a fee of $10. If that seems to expensive to you, then think about this; export the songs and then trade it in the same week the game came out. Sure you won’t be able to play as LEGO characters then, but you’ll be getting the game for half price.

Xbox.com UK says that the update that will bring Facebook, Twitter, and Last.fm to the Xbox 360 will arrive on November 17 in the United Kingdom. There is no word on the release date for other countries, but I would assume that it is the same or close to that date.
